GS750 – Let the Fun Begin!

The GS is coming apart.  All the way apart.

I was one of those kids that took everything apart.  My dad taught me how to solder at the age of 4.  I “borrowed” his tools all of the time to fix broken stuff around the house… and then proceeded to sell it back to him for half price.  It was actually a pretty good deal for all involved.  I learned that the easy part is the taking apart… the putting back together can be the challenge!

I have also learned long ago that I think a little differently than a lot of people.  I literally see things… in my head.  Wiring diagrams, heat dissipation on regulator/rectifiers, you name it.  I see this bike done already.  In three dimensions.  I can ride it already… feel the power… the pegs dragging through a corner…

Suzuki GS750 – Therapy for a Motorcycle Addict

I am a motorcycle addict.  I really should get some professional help but this addiction is also my therapy.

My latest therapy session is in the form of a 1980 GS750E.  When the opportunity came along to build a Suzuki GS, I jumped.  I really like Suzuki’s bikes.  My last one was a Hayabusa… worked over of course.  Ohlins shocks, motorwork, etc.  Let’s just say… um… well it would stomp just about anything… straight line or twisty.  I had a turbo ready to put in but had to sell it because my wife got really sick.  So another Suzuki?  Yup… sounds like fun.

My love affair with street bikes goes back a long time.  I’m only 33 but, have had quite a few bikes and have a lot of miles under my belt…
