Kentucky

September 26th, 2008 by Ritzo (CEO)

I woke up to rain outside on the tent. Hmm… Checked the weather forecast with the Blackberry for the area (where would we be without these things) and found that it should be clearing up around 8AM.

And sure enough: around that time the rain had passed and the sun was out again! :-)

I started my ride at like 9AM. Another beautiful day; life is good! Woohoo! The eastern part of Missouri along highway 60 mainly consists of hilly green fields with lots of trees. Nice!

The Ozarks

September 25th, 2008 by Ritzo (CEO)

This morning I took it easy. I got a somewhat late start because I could. I have about 650 miles ahead of me and need to arrive some time in the afternoon on Sunday. This leaves me 4.5 days and that means I have plenty of time to do some sightseeing until Sunday.

So today after only 100 miles I pulled into Big Springs, which is managed by the National Park Service. On the way up I marked 2,000 miles on the trip meter. :-)

Last night I chopped some wood and built a one match fire that ended up turning into a five match fire. (No other fuel or paper added though!) I like to stare in the fire a bit at times.

East Coast Road Trip DAY ONE

September 22nd, 2008 by Ritzo (CEO)

I drove off at 8AM. This first day I’m trying to get some serious miles behind me so I turn onto I-15 towards Vegas. Typically I try to keep my freeway riding to a minimum as highways and side roads are much more enjoyable.

09/22/08 Road Trip to the East Coast

September 22nd, 2008 by Ritzo (CEO)

First off I fixed the front end of the bike by tightening the headstock bearings. Then I brought the tire pressures to 38 front and 40 rear. I also did some tinkering with the cruise control I installed, more on that another day.

Ready for Cross Country Trip

September 19th, 2008 by Ritzo (CEO)

So here I am: getting ready to ride my motorcycle from California to New England (and back!) But first I have to make it to North Carolina where from September 28th on I have a two-week class to attend.  Thereafter I’ll be heading north which will give me a chance to see the fall colors in New England and eat some great sea-food.
