 The Electrosport Booth
If you’re in to truck & buggy racing, and in Southern California, there’s an event you need to check out!
The SXS Stadium Series events are a short-course dirt track stadium race, held each month in the spring and summer at Perris Auto Speedway, in Perris California (about 20 miles north of Temecula off the 215 freeway).
Electrosport is now a proud vendor at this event and will have a booth setup at each race!

For all of you classic car guys out there, you REALLY need this upgrade!
The Electrosport 7″ Sealed Beam to HID conversion is a huge upgrade on these older cars!
It’s an easy, < 1 hour install, and will work with any H4 bulb 7″ (5 3/4″ kits available too) sealed beam housings. It easily doubles your lighting output, making your car safer to drive at night, while still looking stock!

Hey 06-07 YZ450 riders - just a quick post about our ESL387, which is an excellent replacement lighting upgrade stator for the 06-07 Yamaha YZ450F’s. We set one up in customer Jansen’s bike (06 YZ450F Special Edition!), and headed out to the local track to do some testing.
You can’t get any better test conditions than ripping around the track all day in 90degree weather.
After a full day of riding, we were tired, and Jansen’s YZ was running excellent and firing up on the first kick every time.
So if you’re looking to run some lights on your 06-07 Yamaha YZ450, or your stock stator took a dive and you need to get back in the game, head over the Electrosport store (click here!) and grab an ESL387!

 73 Duster w/ HID's
Well I guess I should use this post to introduce myself. I’m Evan Grist, the new Research & Development guy at Electrosport. I’ll be posting here on the blog as much as possible to keep you informed of the interesting projects going on here at Electrosport.
I figured I’d give you all an update on a recent HID install. I recently traded my 1964 Plymouth Barracuda (built 318, 4speed with a Hurst shifter, very fast car!) for the 1973 Plymouth Duster you see above. It has an original 225ci slant six engine, and gets excellent mileage. However, it was sorely lacking in lighting output with the stock 7″ sealed beams, making driving at night a challenge to say the least.

2009 Dealer Expo Show!
In the midst of a February Deep-Freeze, four members of the ElectroSport team left the comfort of our warm California Sunshine to head into the freezing cold of our Nations Mid-West.
Scott, our General Manager, Laura, our Operations Manager, Eric, from Research and Development and Trent, Technical Sales all packed up and headed into frigid nine degree weather. In addition to arctic shock, we also enjoyed long work days and sleepless nights…. Why? To attend the biggest blow-out-bash industry show of the year of course!

Ok… so, it took a while to recover my sight after burning my retinas during the last HID installation on the Jeep Jeepster but, I am back at it.
Colby, the Service Manager at Anaheim Harley in Orange County, CA asked about lights for his Ford F350 after seeing all of the HID kits that were being installed in the Harleys going through his service department. Colby’s truck has it all… a lift, custom interior, billet wheels, and even retracting steps to climb up into the cab. Our HID light conversion kit was an obvious choice. Not only is it much brighter than the original bulbs, it is twice as bright as the single bulb HID kits being sold out there when on high beam. You see, our high end kit has two bulbs packed into one :) When high beam is on, both lights scorch the road! When on low, there is a solid area of light in front of the car or truck but, because of the way that they are designed… oncoming traffic is not blinded. Pretty cool.

Let’s face it, old jeeps are just plain cool. Like any vehicle that has years of use on it, things get old and technology that once was state of the art becomes a relic of a bygone era. Don’t get me wrong, I am a fan of vintage stuff but, every once in a while something comes along that transforms the way that you see things.
When Pete from JP Magazine contacted us about doing a HID kit in his Jeep Jeepster to replace his original headlights, we jumped at the chance. Pete is a complete Jeep addict with something like twelve or thirteen Jeeps. He uses his Jeeps the way that they were meant to be used… hard. He wanted bright lights but he also wanted to keep the original look.
Headlights on classic vehicles are anemic at best. Sure, it is a step up from a whale oil lantern but not much of a step up. I knew from my own classic cars over the years that Pete was in for a treat. Moab is going to be fun this year…

7:30AM Start of the Half Marathon
In my spare time I like to run. I started about six years ago and have been trying to keep up to speed since then. I’m not much of a sprinter; more a long distance runner (very much a middle of the pack one though!)
Off to run the Carlsbad Half Marathon, which is 13.1 miles

I could imagine that you guys are staring at this picture wondering what the heck happened, well when you do not ride with an HID headlight you get hurt. This thankfully was not my ankle it was one of my best friends ankle who also does Tech Support here at ElectroSport Industries. Please feel free to call Electrosport and hit two for tech support to make fun of him. His name is Steven. Because of this little incident he is now going to be upgrading to an HID kit.

Well my buddy finally convinced me to throw a light on my dirt bike to ride with him at night. At first I was a little bit skeptical because I have never rode at night before, except for riding double on quads out at Ocotillo Wells and Borrego which is not a good idea by the way. At least for me it isn’t, I always seem to run myself over, so I try and stay away from quads. Anyways I put a HID headlight (http://www.electrosport.com/products/product-detail-501.php), a ESL960 60w lighting stator (http://www.electrosport.com/products/product-detail-543.php) , LED taillight (http://www.electrosport.com/products/product-detail-1720.php) and a ESR600 (http://www.electrosport.com/products/product-detail-622.php) Regulator/Rectifier on my personal 04 Kawasaki KX250. I must admit I did cheat alittle bit because the ESL960 stator is not the stator that we have listed for the KX250. The ESL960 is for the CRF250R/450R, however I was not satisfied with running just a 35w halogen bulb because you might as well just ride with a candle. So I figured out a way to run the L960 on my bike. This sooner or later will be the new stator for the KX, but I am currently doing some testing on it to make sure it works flawlessly. So pretty much I am the test dummie for this new part. I must say with this HID light I absolutely love riding at night, it adds a whole new level of sketchiness to riding.
Even Next to Steven’s (Tech Support) RM in broad daylight you can see the HID in my KX is ridiculously brighter.
